May I bring my kids?

We expect 400 artists in the courtyard plus press, it will be chaotic. There is no childcare provided and if we do this right- we should wrap up by 12:30. You know your kid, but please consider the situation, noise, and general chaos. Gallery policy: Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

  • Bring a hat and/or umbrella. It is hot and sunny in the center of the courtyard.

  • You will not stand in the sun all morning, but for 15-30 minutes.

  • Bring water and snacks if you think you need them.

  • Parking is limited and paid lots are expensive. Consider the Gold Line Little Tokyo Arts District Stop (15 min walk from Gallery). There is some metered parking on Garey Street between Temple and Commercial (10-15 min walk from Gallery)

Hauser Wirth & Schimmel are wheelchair-accessible. If you require any special accommodations due to a disability, please contact the gallery in advance of your visit to discuss your requirements.

  • If you're going to drive please arrive early to find parking.

  • Parking is NOT provided.  There are pay lots around and street parking but please give yourself enough time to park and read all street signs. Please check Hauser Wirth & Schimmel website for parking for suggestions.

  • Enter from 3rd Street-Check in will be in the Breezeway

  • The courtyard is sunny please take this into consideration

  • For social media please use: #nowbehereLA2016

  • The photo will be posted for download on the PHOTO page of this website a few days after the event.

How the photo will work:

We will take two photos. In order to identify artists properly, each artist will be given a # card at check in. We will take the first photo with the # cards in front of your face, the second photo will be your faces.

  • At check-in we will be assigning each artist a # card. You will then proceed to waiting area or the courtyard.

  • Photo #1 will have # cards up

  • Photo #2 will have your faces up.

Potentially a few more photos will be taken to confirm we have a great shot of everyone. Were aiming to wrap up the photos as quickly as possible.
